The chosen Artists' favorite works often wind up as their calling cards I f Grant Wood were alive today, he might hand you one of his iconic painting "American Gothic," depicting an Iowa farmer and his daughter dressed like "tintypes from my old family album." James Abbott McNeil might pass you "Whistler's Mother," the equally iconic portrait of the artist's mother, later described as a Victorian-era "Mona Lisa." What they'd likely hand you are business cards, ones capturing an artist's beloved work and — of course — containing contact information for a hoped-for commission.
