The custom of bowing to one's partner has been a traditional start to any square dance since its beginnings in 15th-century England. Susan Ritzenthaler brought her love for square dancing with her when she moved here 10 years ago from Rochester, N.Y. "I looked for a club immediately when I moved here. It's good exercise, you meet all kinds of people, and it's good clean fun." A group of regulars, including caller Bo Bierly, left, take a short break between dances.
