And, apparently, some playful games of chance. "It has a full casino inside," Owen said of her listing's amenities. ere's the "resort-style pool" with an outdoor kitchen and his-and-her baths. And the location. "Minutes from North Hills and downtown," she said. Even closer is the whimsical street-side shop of Diane Choma, whose "When Pigz Fly" is housed in a circa 1936 filling station. "e island out there used to house the pumps," she said. e shop, whose 30 artisans create everything from blown glass to metal birdhouses, was opened in 2008 by Choma and her brother, Jim Heinrich, transplants from Smithtown, N.Y., on Long Island's North Shore. "Our parents were kind of eclectic," Choma, a retired registered nurse, said of a childhood with frequent stops at curious roadside attractions. "ey always took us on vacations." As for the shop's name, there's a story behind that, too, one originating with her brother's initial disbelief about actually relocating and setting up the business. "He said, 'Oh yeah! Sure!
