28 Autumn 2017 | Wake Forest 27587 Magazine ARTWORK COURTESY OF TESH PAREKH PHOTOGRAPHS BY KATHRYN RENDE Among the things that Tesh Parekh treasures is his own childhood sketch book, above. "I'm so lucky my family kept it," he said. Another is the artwork, below, created by his 9-year-old son, Ian. "One day he wants to be a gymnast. One day he wants to be a 'You Tuber,' " he said of his son. "I want him to find his passion and do what he loves." Parekh's vivid watercolor portrays one of Wake Forest's July 4th fireworks celebrations. At right, Parekh's plein air rendering of Cary's Farmers Market, produced this year at the town's "plein air paint-out." Below, Parekh's playful riff on an iconic image, penned during his school-boy years.
