"This painting tries to capture just a bit of that world. … There is a great calm in this place." BOB KARP Displayed on an easel in Alderman's studio is "If Tables Could Talk," from Garland's Seafood (Honey's) in Varnamtown. "The picnic tables have been there for over 60 years," he said. One of Tony Alderman's many nautical-themed works is "Friends," capturing a sailboat as it is heeling amid a strong wind. "Every painting, I can tell you the story behind it. It has to touch me on an emotional level, or I won't do it."
