Read H arvard Square is the destination for the Crimson's Ivy Leaguers, known to frequent such institutions as Grendel's Den. New Haven's Chapel Street pulls in the Yalies, fond of a legendary watering hole that serves up Belgian fries. And NC State, whose unshakable Wolfpack pride actually does paint the town red on occasion, has "the corridor," Raleigh's storied Hillsborough Street. READ The 115-foot NC State Memorial Bell Tower, first envisioned to honor alumni killed in World War I and today illuminated by red floodlights, is made of 1,400 tons of granite set on a 700-ton concrete base. The landmark is noted as a backdrop for student pictures ahead of graduation. Its blending of Romanesque features and Gothic verticality is said to be reminiscent of the towers at West Point.
